Brother
He dreamed of his triangular body,
the plain colour of beige
he remembered numbers
zero, seven and four
zero for infinity, an endless circle
seven for the number of days the gods gave us
four to form a square
his soul has more to bare
it was subconscience telling his mind,
my body, it’s in pain!
but my dearest brother,
your mind is perfectly sane
you put your past behind you
cast it away into the sea
But why, my healthy one
is your body in pain?
You feel what I feel,
hurt and at times, disdain
I love you
until the end of time
for you, I will always rhyme
Tree of Life
There are two ways through life: the way of Nature and the way of Grace. We have to choose which one to follow.
Mother: You’ll be grown before that tree is tall
Father: It takes fierce will to get ahead in this world, come on, hit me son, come on.
Mother: He’s afraid of you, you expect things of him only an adult can accomplish
Father: I just want you to be strong and be your own man
Father, Mother; always you wrestle inside me. Always you will.
Father: Some day you will fall down and weep and you will understand it all; all things.
Guide us to the end of time. Unless you love your life will flash by.
